After an entire week of heavy storms hitting Southern California, the race conditions for round #2 of the Fontana Winter series were going to be questionable at best. However after a dry Saturday, traction seemed to be at an all-time high for Sunday. Blue skies and dark brown dirt was a welcome treat for a couple world champions who were currently in the area training during the off-season. Gee Atherton narrowly beat out Eric Carter for the win and although Rachel Atherton did not race, it was nice to see her back on the bike.
Point One Racing's John Hauer had a great run in the Pro class. The Intense 951 equipped with our Split-Second DM is right at home on the Fontana course. An impressive 9th place finish in the stacked field. 2:12.37
